A Mega Millions player in Colorado was just one number away from winning the $319 million jackpot Saturday night.
The winner matched all five numbers drawn, but missed the Mega Ball. The prize for matching five is $250,000.The Colorado winner chose the Megaplier option and was correct. The Megaplier was four, so the Colorado winner won four times the $250,000 prize for a total of $1 million.
The winning ticket was purchased at Gas and Food Store on Carr Street in Arvada.Two Coloradans matched four numbers and the Mega Ball for a $40,000 prize. Seventeen Coloradans matched four numbers for a $600 prize.In Colorado, 6,381 people won at least $8 in the drawing.Mega Millions drawings are held on Tuesdays and Fridays.
